Emily was born in Marin County and raised in Stockton, California. Growing up, Emily was lucky enough to have a home in Tahoe, where her family came every weekend and summer. In high-school, she was an avid ballet dancer and studied with the Joffrey Ballet in New York City as well as DanceAspen in Colorado. She enthusiastically graduated from the University of Southern California in 2002, where she received her B.A. from the School of Theatre as well as a minor from the Marshall School of Business. In college, Emily was part of the Alpha Phi Sorority, and was even rush chair. Since graduation she pursued acting in Los Angeles, completed a screenplay and worked in a seasonal position for the Sundance Film Festival in Salt Lake City, Utah. Missing Tahoe, Emily shortly returned to the lake and took on the job as the Executive Director for the Reno Film Festival in 2005. She received her real estate license in September, 2005.
